The context & purpose of the study

In a context of relocation of such industries from outside of the European continent and global geopolitical uncertainty, Safran Electronics & Defense wanted to assess the magnetic core production capacity with the resources available in France for its needs and those of the DTIB. Through this study, Safran Electronics & Defense aims to increase its technical and scientific expertise on the challenges of relocating ferrite cores production.

1. In-depth understanding of your needs

Before launching the study, we discuss the nature of your needs and define the best approach for meeting them.

2. Literature review and analysis

We carry out a rigorous literature review to define the scope of action around your problem and identify possible areas of study.

This literature review is based on the analysis of scientific journals, patent databases and consultations with experts specialising in your industrial field.

3. Applying our expertise

Once the foundations have been established, it's up to us! Thanks to our know-how and the research work carried out in step 2, we define the best experimental plan for your needs and we carry out tests in our laboratories.

4. Feedback and future collaboration

We present you the results in a technical report with an oral presentation. You have the option of continuing with a new study: new specifications, repeatability, scale-up of production, or entrusting us with the supply of the product on a recurring basis.

Each stage is carried out in close collaboration with you. This approach allows us to redefine or redirect your request according to the results obtained.

To provide you with the best possible skills, we call on external partners specialised in key stages as shaping, which involves plasturgy, sintering and machining, or electromagnetic characterisations over a wide range of frequencies.

 

We support you in the development of specific ferrites for electronics, and in the development of magnetic composites and 3D printing, as tailor-made filaments with magnetic and conductive additives or designs of electromagnetic absorbers.
